Date values off by one day between online instannces

Posted on by

Dynamics 365 Online - release 8.2

We are experiencing an issue where records created by a SSIS package in one environment have date values which match the source data but in another environment they are one day off.  Same user; the only difference is that the dates which are correct are created by a SSIS package running locally on the developer's box and the dates which are incorrect are created by a SSIS package running on our database servers.

I have confirmed that the date fields in both environments are configured exactly the same; i.e., Behavior=User Local and Format=Date Only.

Can anyone shed some light on this for us?

    Maybe this would help:

Any other way?  The user running the package does not have an AD account which allows a desktop login and a desktop login is required because we have ADFS authentication

Time zone settings are under the personal options in Dynamics:

    http://crmbook.powerobjects.com/basics/searching-and-navigation/setting-personal-options/

You won't see them in the advanced find, though. Would have to log in under that user.

For Kingsway, there is a setting "Send datetime values in UTC format":

    www.kingswaysoft.com/.../destination

As I look through your suggestions, can you tell me where I find the user's time zone in CRM?  This is an ADFS implementation so most of the user data is in the Office 365 portal.   I've used Advanced Find on Users and don't see an attribute for time zone.

Yes, we are using the Kingswaysoft Adapter.

Are fields are Date Only, so no times.

    Hi Debra,

it is, probably, UTC conversion. Could you pick a date that should not have changed if it were converted to UTC and see if stays the same(something like 12 PM, for example.. the time part will change, but it should still be the same date)?

Are you using Kingsway for CRM connectors in SSIS? There must be an option to use UTC dates.

Outside of SSIS, you might try fixing it by making sure the second environment (with incorrect dates) has been set up similarly to the "correct" one in the following sense:

    - CRM user account has the same timezone in CRM

    - Local user account (which is utilized to run the SSIS package) is using the same time zone as the one your developer is using

Please check the system time and Time Zones in both servers.
