Customer Requisition Number

Hi,

We have a scenario where a customer wants to use the same requisition (purchase order) number for the next 12 months.  Is there a way to auto populate this number in the requisition number filed on any new sales orders we create?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,
There is no such out-of-the-box functionality. You need to create a custom logic that retrieves the requisition number you need based on the customer's request and then sets it to the value of the requisition number field on the sales order. If you don't have a developer, you can enlist the help of a Microsoft partner who will customize the service for you: Find the right app | Microsoft AppSource. Or you can use a power automate to automate the process: Microsoft Power Automate – Process Automation Platform | Microsoft.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi

You can do this if you are creating the new Sales orders from a Sales agreement.

If the customer has created one PO for their next 12 months expenditure (with yourselves), it implies they must have some idea what it is they might expect to buy over the next 12 months.

In such cases, you can record what the customer expects to buy in a Sales agreement. You can assign the Customer's PO number to the Sales agreement, same as you do with a Sales order.

When the customer requests some items, you create a Sales order from the Sales agreement using the Release order function, and the new Sales order will inherit the Customer's requisition number from the Sales agreement.

We did consider sales agreements but this only uses the Reference number field, not the requisition field.  The Requisition field needs to be populated manually whenever releasing an order from the sales agreement.  Thanks for the response.

In a standard 10.0.39 environment, I created this Sales agreement, and set a Customer requisition number:

When I create a Release order, the Customer requisition is populated automatically:

and flows through on to the new Sales order.
