We are a distributor with hundreds of vendors. Most of the price lists I receive are in excel. Is there a way to import pricing each year so GP is current?

I should probably say I am wanting to update the Item Maintenance page. Standard cost, current cost and the list price. Also, the price on the Items Vendors Maintenance. Is there a way to do this in the system? I don't know how to use SQL.
You can import this data using Integration Manager. Use the Items integration.
what if you don't have Integration Manager? Is there another way to add a new Price List option without having to do so line by line?
Macros
Hi Brian Girard
As Tamy suggested, if you have no IM or other integration tools, macros are the way to go... or you could be bold and try SSIS to import the data into SQL temp staging tables and then write some SQL updates to push the data to inventory tables, but there are obviously some risks of missing data.
John Arnold has created a tool that simplifies repetitive macro file creation for GP based on an Excel workbook, called "Replicator". Give it try:

Thanks Tami and Béat. Macros was my first instinct as it has served me well with other GP related fixes and updates. The problem I have with it is that not every item has the same number of price lists. This is largely due to the fact that certain customers do not receive discounts on all of our products. Hindsight being 20/20 we should have added a price list level on all products and just changed the percentage on the products for which they receive discounts. If you think the macro will still work I will look into it otherwise I will have to do some maintenance on all items so each product price list is consistent.
Brian,
I can't help with the details of the item setup related to price lists, as most of my customers have used in the past an add-on from Rockton software (developped by Winthrop DC) that is called OmniPrice :

It's an affordable product that might solve your price list headache.. The tool offers import/export of contracts by using Excel worksheets..
Brian, in the past we have tried macros and the problem is as you note, not all items are equal and it makes it harder to standardise a macro.
We broke down and got Integration Manager for this very reason. One of our clients does the same thing, each spring importing the price list catalogue from his biggest suppliers - it save him hundreds of hours and keystrokes. If you have a lot of items, and lots of different price lists, I would suggest that this ( Integration Manager ) is the best choice. That is unless you get something custom developed ( which is not all bad )
Hope this helps a little bit.
We use the Trade Discount set up discount on a customer level...although this applies it to the whole order not the Item
