GP 2010 - dynamics.exe pegging CPU

GP 2010 is running on a server with GPCollect DPS.

The GPCollect DPS runs scripts to process data received from handheld scanners.

We are experiencing high CPU when there are no transactions.  The server is sitting idle waiting for a transaction and the dynamics.exe process is using 97-99% of the CPU.  There is only the main screen open and no activity.

What could cause dynamics.exe to use so much CPU?

Not vanilla.  Running GP client locally.

Nothing has changed in the sense of loading software/uninstall, etc.

I restart the server, GP client loads as well as the Collect software that takes a message from handheld scanner and then does the script to open/enter data into windows in GP.

The CPU is actually lower when it is processing a message.  When it completes the transaction, the CPU goes back up.

Is it vanilla Dynamics GP?  Sounds like it might not be, and if that's the case, you might have a problem in one of your customizations.  Did this just start recently?  Has your environment changed?  Etc.?

It's tough to guess, I'd recommend starting here:
