Deleted Sales Orders

Good day all.  I've been reading some posts that suggest Sales Orders are "deleted" when cancelled or completely shipped.

I'm looking at the database tables directly, and it appears that our sales orders are not being deleted from [$Sales Header] and [$Sales Line].  Does "deleted"  mean something other than a literal delete from these tables?  Perhaps that's a UI concept that is driven off a flag?

On a related note, if I can't rely on the data I'm finding in the Sales Header/Line table, where is reliable data for revenue calculations?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi TerryMitchell,

Sales Order created can be "deleted" when cancelled or completely shipped, that is true, but it if posted to a sales invoice, it will be transferred to another table "Posted Sales Invoices" that represent the reliable data for revenue calculations.

Thank you for confirming that they can be deleted.  My question is why in my system it appears they are not being deleted.

    Thanks.

Also, I cannot locate a table with a name similar to "Posted Sales Invoice".  Please advise.

    Thanks.

A Sales Order is deleted if it it is fully invoiced (not shipped).

If there is an outstanding quantity, the order will remain.

There is no such thing as canceled in the system, unless you customize it. You basically delete and archive it manual.

The page is called Posted Sales Invoice. The table is Sales Invoice Header and Sales Invoice Line.
