Dear Experts.

I was exploring some additional fields in Main accounts form so I stuck in the below 3 fields -  Dr/Cr Requirement , Dr/Cr default and Balance Control

Kindly please tell the difference  between and meaning of  these 3 and if any of the above fields are selected then what will happen i.e. Permutation and combination selection between these fields.

Kindly please help

Thanks in advance

Difference between - Dr/Cr Requirement , Dr/Cr default and Balance Control
    • Dr/Cr Default - This field auto populates Dr/Cr upon the type of account. For example, while creating main account, if you select your main account type as 'Asset', Dr/Cr Default field auto populates with 'Debit' as all assets would be debited. If you select main account type as 'Liability', Dr/Cr Default field auto populates with 'Credit' as all liabilities would be credited etc.
    • Dr/Cr Requirement - This field should be mapped based on business requirement. For example as per your business, your liabilities should be debited then you map this field with 'Debit' and so on.

Hope that clears your query. Thanks

Difference between - Dr/Cr Requirement , Dr/Cr default and Balance Control
    • Dr/Cr Requirement - the account will accept only Debit or Credit transactions when posting
    • Dr/Cr Default - controls the tab sequence in transaction entry
    • Balance control - requires that an account maintain either a debit or a credit balance and won't permit posting a transaction that would violate that rule
