Auditing D365 Admin Portal actions

Hi all,

i currently have the requirement to audit all administrative actions that can be done using the Dynamics 365 Admin Portal like

  • Creating Organization
  • Create Backup
  • Restore Organization from Backup
  • ...

has anybody done that in the past? Is there a way to use the Office365 Security & Compliance Center for that purpose?

We are running d365 online at version 1612 (8.2.2.160)

Any advice is appriciated

thanks in advance and

best regards

Niklas

    hi Niklas ,

As i haven't seen any feature is available explicitly for the admin to export or retrieve such info . Alternatively you can get better clarity on the feasibility by raising support ticket with MS. this will resolve your query and update the response from MS if possible.

    Hi Syed,

    thank you for your reply.

iam aware of the fact that the applications audit feature is not a suitable approach.

I know that MS is replacing the audit feature with an integration into the office 365 security & compliance portal for several reasons. One reason is to be able to export those data or move them to a proper SIEM system.

From an operations and compliance perspective there has to be a way to log/audit the actions from the  Dynamics 365 Admin Portal as well.

    Best Regards

    Niklas

    Since it is online

    Creating Organization

    Create Backup

    Restore Organization from Backup

Are all actions done on the O365 console which we have no audit log can be exported if am not wrong.

Rather any admin action in CRM like user access modification or change of records or security roles can be tracked using audit trail.

Note: Online Audi history can't be exported for any reporting.

Hope this helps. If the suggestion resolved your query .Pls mark it as answered/verified to close the thread.
