Hello Microsoft Team,

I would appreciate if you could help me with the following:

I have MS Dynamics CRM Online 2016 and I want to Add Control for my entities to have an Editable grid. Following link explains how to do this, but I don't have an "Editable Grid" control, I only have Calendar Control and Timeline Control.

https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/sonomapartners/archive/2016/11/29/dynamics-365-editable-grids

Please advise me on how I can add Editable Grid Control and then follow the instruction on the link.

Thank you in advance!

    Enabling Editable Grids
i have the following scenario but wanted to share this to all.  I migrated CRM 2011 organistion to CRM 2016 and then later upgraded to MS Dynamics 8.2.x .  i added the editable grid control ont he custom entity form but it always defautls to read only default grid.  Also you will find that that the editable grid option the web option defaults to disabled or greyed out radio button.  I was totally scratching whats going on wrong.  Then i tried in accounts entity wherein i have contacts as subgrid option and there i was able to see editable grid option enabled.  So when i searched many forums there was no help.  THen wheni deeply troublehooted i found that the view that was assigned to order products may be not allowed directly as editable grid or MS CRM may not allow cross queries or doesnt allow direct order product view which is by default is not shown as entity anywhere . it could be any possibility.   even i tried XRM toolbox for view replication it doesnt show the order product entity itself.  so this tip could be helpful. now i will try to replicate the same view from order view as i have custom entity Receipt Voucher module which basically helps to associate whats the payment got from the client and associates particular order product for that specific RV> it was nicely working in crm2011 but not anymore in Dynamics 365 on premises.   Now ill try order view and try to enable editable subgrid and will post here.

    RE: Enabling Editable Grids

    Hi Sabina

The editable grids are part of the 2nd update in Dynamics CRM 2016. Once applied it will be rebranded to Dynamics 365 with about 30 additional features, one of them being editable grids.

If you are nervous about the upgrade of your production instance, then copy the production instance to a sandbox instance and see what the effects of the upgrade will do to your current production instance.

If you found my response helpful, please mark “Yes” to confirm it helped you.

    Hi Sabina,

The editable grid was introduced in December 2016 update for Dynamics 365 (online and on-premises).

    Sabina,

Yes, that should enable editable grids for you.

Currently, I have Microsoft Dynamics® CRM Online 2016 Update (8.1.1.1003) (DB 8.1.1.1003) and my new update is scheduled in 5 days.

Do you think this new update will help me enabling editable grids? Or I should look for another solution?

Sp2 is the equivalent of D365, so that would be correct.  However, since Sabina is online, it will be called 365.

I think this is enabled with the December 2016 release or SP2 for CRM 2016. Maybe your instance is not there yet? Go to your Gear on the right in CRM, note your build number and then go to this link. buildnumbers.wordpress.com/crm

Mine is (8.1.0.359) (DB 8.1.0.359) so I am a few releases back. I am waiting on my vendor to catchup.

I'm afraid that answer is no. You should upgrade your organization to Dynamics 365 version to get "Editable Grids" feature.

Thank you Andrii! So there is no such thing as "Editable Grids" for CRM Online 2016, correct?
