Link to Web is not working in Workflow email

Hi,

I have designed a workflow which sends an email to the approver with a link to approve the workflow. I have used LinkToWeb in the workflow design to send the approval link. The issue is that the link is not opening/working.

Please help on how to fix this.

Hi,

What exact version of Dynamics AX are you using? Can you check in the email what URL is behind the link in the email?

Hi Dynamics365 Admin,

Thanks. As you are not using Dynamics AX but Dynamics 365 I moved the question to the correct forum. Can you also tell the pattern of the URL that is included in the email? What is the exact behavior? Do you get an error or is it bringing you to an incorrect page?

Hi Andre,

The link is opening the D365 FO home page and generates the following error in the action center :

The specified record query failed to apply and the form can't be opened.

It is not opening the Project Hour Journal Form for approving the Project Hour Journal. Please refer to the attached image for the error.

Kindly provide your suggestions.

How are the links created? Are you creating deeplinks? Can you show some screenshots of the links? Perhaps they are truncated in the mail? Please share as much information as possible.

Can you share a screenshot of the form as it should be opened as per your expectation? What exact menu path and steps are used to get to the details?

Hi Andre,

The Project Hour Journal form should be opened (FormName: ProjJournalTable). The approver then can approve/reject/cancel the workflow using the buttons. Please see the attached screenshot for reference.

Path for Project Hour Journal form: Project management and accounting (module) -> Projects -> All projects

Select the required project for which hour journal needs to be created/approved.

Go to Project tab -> Journals (Group) -> Hour

This will open the project hour journal form which should open when the link is clicked.
