Dynamics 365 App - Web Resource's button now opening page

Hi,

I added some web resouce with "<a href='someUrl' target='_blank'>Btn</a>" as a button in it, and add the web resource to a dashboard. I can see the dashboard working fine in web pages, but on the tablet app (Dynamics 365 - used on iPad), it's not opening up anything. Any idea how to solve the issue? Thanks a lot.

I haven't worked much with the Dynamics 365 iPad client, but on the Dynamics CRM (8.1) iPad client we had the same issue, and per Microsoft (about 1 year ago), you could not open a popup window from the MoCA client.

You might be able to change the target to self and have it visible that way, but this was an issue with MoCA. We spend countless hours with a Sev A ticket trying to resolve this, but had no resolution. Microsoft mentioned something about future release, but I have not heard or seen resolution (Possibly in 365 or unified interface)...

Hello,

You will have to wait until your organization is updated to v9.x. With 8.x you will not have that possibility but with v9.x you got new Xrm.Navigation namespace and openUrl method - docs.microsoft.com/.../openurl

Thanks Andrew.

But even it's possile, it would be opening the view in browser, not in the app itself. That's fine, I am going for some workaround solution.

Have you tried to embed IFrame into your form and point IFrame to url you want by button click?
