Mailbox requires an approval by an Office 365 administrator - Where do I need to go

Posted on by 1,017

Hi,

If I have to approve a Users mailbox in the Admin center using the global tenant account, where should I navigate and approve it. Any screenshots where I can approve the mailbox for the user is highly appreciated.

I see the steps in one blog as below  but I am not sure where I can find the mailbox for that user  to approve it

1. Sign into Dynamics 365 (online) as a user with the Global Administrator role in Office 365.
2. Select the mailbox record and then click Approve Email.
3. Click Test & Enable Mailbox.

Thanks!

Admin can remove the approval requirement for mail boxes - docs.microsoft.com/.../connect-exchange-online

The user account should be an office 365 global administrator to approve.

    Hi Kokulan,

Should the above steps be done by the Global Tenant account or anyone with System Admin role will be able to do?

I tried testing the mailbox for one user using the System admin account and the Incoming and outgoing were shown as failed - then I was told to use the global tenant account

    Thanks

    Hi

You can get to the mail box in a few different ways, the following is one of them, Go to Settings -> Email Configuration

    Click on Mailboxes

Select the mailbox, Click Approve and then click on Test and Enable

    ScreenClip-_5B00_582_5D00_.png

Once the test and enable completed, you will be able to see if it was successful or not in the test status columns as shown below

In the approach i mentioned above, you can bulk approve and enable multiple mailboxes.

You can also open the mailbox and do the same as shown below

Once you approved and clicked on Test and Enable, you can check the status under Alert tab. it might take a few minutes to get the results in the alert area as its an async task that tests the connection.
