Issue accessing Portal Add-On in Dynamics 365 Admin Center

Hi guys

Curious if anyone is having any issues with accessing the Dynamics 365 Admin Center - Manage Applications Portal Add-On Management screens at all?

We went live yesterday with a new site and it's published okay and everyone can see it but we cannot access the Portal Add-On screen to allow us to manage the Portal. We're having a problem with caching and need to restart the Portal and we usually access it this way (via https://port.crm4.dynamics.com/G/Applications/Index.aspx) but alas the Manage Applications Portal Add-On is trying to login and then throwing:

An unexpected error occurred. Please try again or contact support for assistance. Error Code: 4c5ef090-c089-4bd0-bf33-5c02f63a6469

The error code is obviously a new one every time.

We've raised a call with MS yesterday but still await any response and so I was curious if anyone else had any issues?

Cheers

Steven

    Hi Steve,

I have seen this issue couple of times before.  I didn't do anything special to resolve it. Please try again in Chrome's Incognito mode or IE InPrivate mode.

Thanx for the reply Nadeeja. We'd already tried this but I tried again and alas we have the same issue.

I did notice that the Dynamics 365 Admin Center has been upgraded (visually at least) yesterday and ever since then we've not been able to access this. So I was curious if MS were tweaking in the background and broke this somehow.

Guess there's no other way into the Portal Add-On Management screens?

    Hi Steve,

The URL for the portal management site includes a GUID.  If you haven't bookmarked it, then there's no easy way to find it.  I think the issue is something to do with authentication. I'll play around in my environment and see if I can figure out a way.

    Hi Nadeeja

Thanx again for the response. When you click on Portal Add-On (the Manage button) it opens a new window with a new link that includes the client_id GUID. It then moves onto another page at portaladmin-eur.portal-infra.dynamics.com with the tenantProductId GUID but fails with the original error.

We did move the domain over from previous supplier to Office 365 yesterday as well and we did then change the primary email address to match the domain but this did update CRM as well (user accounts). When we realised that we couldn't access the Portal Add-On portion we switch the primary email back to the original settings and CRM was updated again with this.

Quite possibly its an issue right at the backend that I cannot access and hopefully we get some light shone on this one.

Any other suggestions gladly received of course.

    Cheers

    Steven

    Hi Steven,

I tried provisioning a portal and had the same issue couple of days ago. I created a support ticket and Microsoft advised that there was an issue and it had now been fixed. I tried again and it worked.

    Please try again.

    Hi Nadeeja

Thanx for the response. Still no joy with the Portal we have for the admin account but I was able to access this with another GA account and was able to do what I wanted (restart the Portal).

Still no idea why the admin account isn't working (still isn't today) and still awaiting some form of response from MS as the call has been open since Sunday 5th February and no one has responded to it despite me sending in about 3-4 updates asking for advice/assistance!

I saw last week that MS had updated the Service Health to eventually state there was an issue with newly provisioned Portals (which this isn't as the Portal was provisioned in November 2016!) so this shouldn't have affected myself but the issue being shown was similar, if not identical, to the issue I saw and still see for the admin account.

All very strange but at least I could do what I wanted with another GA account.

Out of curiosity, do you know how a Delegated Admin (we're the Partner of the organisation with the CRM/Portal) can administer the applications tied to a Dynamics 365 environment? Whenever we attempt to access certain areas (like Portal Add-On) whilst signed on as the DA we are told that we don't have access rights. Seem weird that we have every other right to update/customise the CRM, etc. but not to access the Portal Add-On area.

This means we need to signed on as a GA from the organisation (not always convenient to do this) if we are wanting to access these areas.

    Thanx again

    Steven
