Hi Team,

Getting below error while opening the transaction in general ledger module general journal in AX2012,

Performed below steps to identify the issue, but still the issue is recurring again & again.

1. Full CIL, cleared cache & auc files

2. Number seq set to continuous

3. Num seq status list also cleared, it's fine once status list is cleared but again the issue is raising .

First of all, do you really have to use a continuous number sequence? Unless there is a legal requirement that has no other solution, make the sequence non-continuous. It's better for performance and it reduces problems like this (although this error may have other causes as well).

Hi Rashmi,

I do concur with Martin. In addition, this is a known error in case you activate continuous number sequences for general journals. It is recommended to disable the continuous setting here. For invoice numbers, voucher numbers, and other legal requirements the continuous option is implemented.

Hi Rashmi,

I noticed your reply to Martin. In case you have the error when continuous is disabled, please check if the Next value on the number sequence is larger than the last used number.

There is number sequence issue with AX, we are receiving the error for other module as well.

Can you please help me why the increment is not happening.

Identify the number sequence and check it's Next value. Then look into the table; there probably already is a record with such a value.

This may be caused a wrong data import, wrong change the number sequence setup, a problem in code...

Hi Martin,

Error: Cannot create a record in ledger journal table, Name GL_Genjnl is appearing only for DIXF process.

When we try to import journal for general ledger module (General journal) we create journal batch number# first to update in DIXF file while creating if we save & then try to import click on lines this error is not appearing.

If we do not save the journal & try to import, click on lines of general journal we are getting error (Cannot create a record in ledger journal table, Name GL_Genjnl).

Is there anyway system itself has to save & refresh, allow user to process.

It's great that your problem has been resolved. Please don't forget to verify the answer.

Regarding your other problem (with data import), please create a new thread next time and explain your problem in detail there, instead of changing the topic of an existing thread.

Anyway, are you saying that the import doesn't work when you try to import a journal with no ID and it works if you generate and assign an ID? Then it make sense; a journal needs an ID.

To eliminate the manual ID generation and assignment, configure your import project mapping to auto-generate values of the ID field.

If you mean something else, please explain in the new thread.

Hi Martin,

Issue is not yet resolved still facing the error as "Cannot create record in ledger journal table"

This error is occurring only when we are doing journal import through DIXF process, not sure where it is going wrong all set up's are correct.
