Hello all,
I would like to know if there is a way to mix security role and organizational hierarchy whitout the use of XDS extension.
My goal is to create an organizational hierarchy such as Legal Entity > Business Unit > Department and to assign users to this organization to filter results in screen such as Project main pages. As an exemple, using a contoso sandbox environment, I'm trying to create an organization USMF > Business unit and filter project main pages results to the project for which the business unit (dimension financion based on the operation unit business unit) is egual to the one assigned to the user (System Administration > Security > Assign users to roles > Assign organizations)
Of course, As I'm asking a question here, it does not work.
Thank to have a look to this message,
Regards,
Hello Arnaud,
Indeed I start from your webinar to begin my set up. I expected that a bypass solution would be implemented since 2021...

Hi Piccin,
Like Nikolaj mentioned, you would need to restrict access using a customization, e.g. XDS. The security framework is accepting an hierarchical structure where you can e.g. use business units as a tree with lowest nodes the legal entities. For granting access, the standard application is only considering the legal entities.
I created an example which could be helpful to get started with an implementation like your requirement. In my example, I restricted the retail channels when assigned to roles using the organization hierarchies. You can read the post and download the example for free: Extensible Data Security examples - Secure by retail channel (dynamicspedia.com)
Hi,
Unfortunately you are hinting to answer in your own post.
To meet this type of requirement, you will need to implement a security policy (XDS).
