The Management reporter was working fine but we today we are facing the following error in one company, when you select one as default company and choose any report it generates the following error and doesn't open the report:

The operation could not be completed due to a problem in the data provider framework

the event viewer shows the following error:

The operation could not be completed due to a problem in the data provider framework. Action: http://schemas.microsoft.com/dynamics/performance/reporting/2010/01/directlink/IDirectLinkService/SubmitRequestServiceFaultFault Fault code: Sender IsSenderFault: True IsReceiverFault: False Reason: The operation could not be completed due to a problem in the data provider framework.
Machine:'X'

I dont know what suddenly caused this error, i checked MR with other companies its working well, i ran checklinks on company and financial with no effect and the 2 MR services are working as normal.

hope to recieve any feed back that can help resolve the issue.

I found another error on the MR configuration console:

The year Dynamics Calendar (-2147483648) is outside the allowed range. \r\n
Minimum year allowed: 1000 \r\n
Maximum year allowed: 9999
Parameter name: currentYear

where i found an article with the answer to the problem and it works fine now

i had all periods closed which made this error.

With MR this is a pretty generic error that can hide all kinds causes.

Windows Event Viewer should give you more information, see this post by Ian for guide.
