Missing audit Entries

Posted on by 5

Hi

We have an audit retention policy set up to retain all CRM audit logs (Auditbase) and have sufficient disk space.

When we view the Log Usage, we can see that on a particular day the diskspace consumed by the auditbase logs dropped by 25%. All the dates of the audit log still seem to be there and they are still contigous with no dates missing, but how can we account for this loss of logs?

I have suggested we audit deletion of the audit logs which is possible in case we have a fat fingered Admin somewhere, but could there be some other reason such as an automatic cleanup or some compression of logs when things get to a certain size etc?

any advice or help appreciated.

thanks

    Hello,

My assumption this environment is Onprem.

Would say to confirm if any routine for rebuild/reorganize index has been applied.

    Regards,
