Custom Item Name for specific customer with print out on documents

We have a customer that has their own item numbers for some of our inventory items.  We are looking for a way to use the customers custom item numbers, have them printed and shown on all documents and do not duplicate item numbers that are already in inventory.  We also need to use these number as part of Kits that we put together for the same customer.

We are using GP 2010 and the Customer Item feature looks like it would work for our scenario, but I cannot get the Customer Items to be printed or shown on any documents.  Also it does not look like we can use Customer Items in a Kit.

Thanks,

The customer item feature is EXACTLY what you want.  You will need to add that table and the appropriate fields to the documents.  There is a tech-knowledge not in Customer Source on doing this.  I will see if I can find it for you.  You could also have your Partner make the mods for you.

That's absolutely what you should be looking for, the Customer Item Number. To add up, here is a good reference to consider; Customer Items

One more thing to consider, if the you want to make use of the user-defined fields, you could check the following reference; Adding Customer Item User Defined fields to SOP Invoice
