Unable to remove load line from shipment for which work was cancelled

I have a sales order for which user created 2 shipments. Second shipment was created as the one line item was cancelled.

Now Work associated with Shipment-1 is Closed and Shipment is also in "Shipped" status.

However, for Shipment-2 status is "In Process", Wave ID and Container ID was removed and Work is cancelled.

Requirement is to remove load line from this shipment and delete this shipment as customer cancelled order for this SO line item.

Now I have attempted using all 3 functions available trying remove this load line and getting below error:

Using DELETE- error : Load line cannot be deleted because there is work associated to it

Using Remove line: You cannot delete shipment line that has work associated to it.

Using Reduce Pick quantity: This line cannot be unpicked because no closed work is associated to it.

Can anyone help me if there is a way to delete this load line for the shipment please?

Thanks

    Hello Gaurav,

Which version are you using? D365 or AX2012R3

Did you try to change the Load line quantity to "0" and saving.

Can you share a screen shot of the Load lines displaying these fields: Quantity, Work Quantity and Picked Quantity?

    Hi Danny,

Thanks for your reply. I am using D365.

I tried changing load line qty to "0" (highlighted below in 2nd shipment) however it throws error warning saying "field qty must be filled in".

I have attached screenshot of both the shipments associated with same sales order. 1st Shipment was Shipped fine after completing work. In this shipment you can see item ABC is also reflecting in load lines with 0 Quantity and work quantity. Work was hence closed with 0 work quantity.

user created 2nd shipment (released again) for item ABC and here after deleting Wave also Shipment Status is in progress. Due to this Remove line and Delete function on load lines doesnt work. Also reduced pick qty throws warning since work is cancelled not closed.

    Could this be a bug?

    Hi again Gaurav,

On your second shipment, you have work create quantity = 1.  Normally, when you cancel the work that quantity would become "0".  Can you confirm on the All Work list page that you do not have any open or in process work for that sales order, load or shipment.

You mention that Container ID was removed; are you using the Packing Station with containers being opened and closed?  If so, did your user unpack what had been packed or was the container deleted by some other mean?

Thank you Danny for your quick response.

All work list page also shows work status as Closed for 1st Shipment and Cancelled for 2nd shipment. So definitely its not in open or in process. I think somehow system is not validating the check that Work is Cancelled and giving error same as if work is open.

Containerisation is being used, so wave was deleted manually along with container ID. Because if it isn't deleted when you trying deleting load lines it throws error that "load details cannot be deleted while dependent container details exist"

    Hi Gaurav,

On the Load line, you have 'Quantity', 'Work Created Quantity' and 'Picked Quantity'.  My feeling is that the work created quantity being 1 even after the work is cancelled, that the picked quantity is at 0.  The work and picked quantity need to be equal to use the function to reduce picked quantity.  With packaging station, that picked quantity would be updated when the container is moved to a shipping location.  So I think you are stuck in a loop where you might need Microsoft intervention to rectify the transcations.

    Hi Danny,

I was able to resolve this using form called "Correct load lines manually" located in "Warehouse management -> Periodic tasks -> Clean up".

In that form you can search by shipment or load and then set "Work created quantity" to 0 for selected load lines.

After this load lines can be deleted.

Thanks for your guidance too :)
