Cannot change Work Order System Status to "Posted"

Hi All,

My role in my job has me limited to some aspects of Field Service. I am able to: Create new Work Orders, create and edit accounts, create and edit products, services and incident's. I do not have the permissions to: see the pricing, edit any billing, and other finance-related options.

I have noticed that I do not have permissions to close Work Orders, and recently found I cannot change the Work Order System Status from "Scheduled" to "Posted", or close the Work Order.

When I try to Post the Work Order, it comes up with this error:

4807.Capture.PNG

We have tried changing permissions with Entities and Attributes, but nothing has changed.

Has anybody had this issue before? Or know which permissions to change for me to edit Work Orders?

(Below is the printed error):

ErrorCode: -2147158777

I am assuming you are not using the out of the box security roles. When posting the work order, the system will create an invoice and actual records. It will need to read the price and cost in order to generate it. You might need other privileges.

I will suggest a workaround. Create a Flow that runs with a different user so you can update the work orders system status to posting. This flow can be triggered by a custom field or a stage work order substatus.

You will need the Field Level Security Profile assigned to your user which has the ability to update the 'msdyn_systemstatus' field.

It should be in one of the Field Serivce ones which has this ability.
