We are tracking an issue that is happening with regularity among several of our users that have received Windows 7 over the past few months. When heavy CRM 4.0 Rollup 9 users open an email, they typically see the "Track in CRM" and "Set Regarding" menu in the outlook email toolbar menu. However, randomly this toolbar will disappear. Once it disappears, the user will have to close and reopen outlook at which point the toolbar functionality comes back and they can proceed.
When the toolbar disappears, it is still available in the general outlook client. It only disappears when you double-click an email to open the message and try to use it from the message's toolbar. The problem with the general outlook client toolbar is that you can't quickly "set regarding" without doing a formal search which adds a few steps that users dislike.
We've tried updating the users to rollup 21 but this behavior did not change. We are now trying to figure out how to prevent this from happening and have come up completely empty handed. I haven't found a single instance online where someone has experienced this behavior.
