User security for multiple companies in one database file

We have nine entities being managed in one database and accomplish separate financial reporting via GL segments. Issue is that I want to restrict user access to Company A for instance so that Company A's users only see Company A's data and can only process transactions for Company A. Any ideas?

Given the enormous size of our database and the problems with users being able to inadvertently process transactions for the wrong company I wonder if it would be worth the trouble to reset the installation and create separate company files?

Is general ledger the only thing you are trying to secure?

You should consider using account level security to accomplish this.

It should give you enough background to determine if this will work for you.

Instructions are also in the system manager manual for setting up account level security.

You should try this out in a test environment before activating it in your production environment
