Is it possible to create a data entity from a table originates from binary model in D365 F&O?

Dear community,

The (binary) model is part of the reference package, and it's possible to extend the table. However, it's not possible to create a data entity from it, nor with the wizard neither manually. The binary model is a 3rd party product. Is this something yours had experienced as well and if yes, is it possible to fix it? Thanks for your reply.

    Hi,

Yes, you can extend tables in the binary model, but you cannot create data entities from them. You can request a data entity from a third-party .

    Hi DynaErp1,

In general, it is possible to create your own data entities if you only have the binaries from a 3rd party vendor. The prerequisite is that you need to have a model reference from your own model to the 3rd party model. In addition, but that is a requirement for all tables, the table should have a natural key.

I have done this in the past before and just tested it in my environment. Do you get errors or are the tables not visible for selection in the data entity wizard?

The issue is fixed by Synchronizing the database (and not the project only). @André Arnaud de Calavon is correct that extension of a table to an entity from a 3rd party binary model is possible.
