Access Tokens in CRM

Posted on by 7,392 User Group Leader

Hi All,

In a recent discussion among my team, an opinion was that Access Tokens used for D365 Authentication might not be secure.

Can you elaborate or put light on whether the above holds true or otherwise?

I wanted to hear your suggestions.

Thanks in advance. :)

    RE: Access Tokens in CRM

    Hi,

CRM implements OAuth 2.0 for security which is treated as one of the most secure authorization specification.  There are multiple ways of generating an access token and you can use below grant types:

    Authorization Code

    Client Credentials

    Implicit

    Password

The only flow you would have to be cautious while implementing is Implicit flow as it generates token on client side.
