We are running AX2012R3 and I would like to implement barcode scanning as part of the picking processes both in stores and for final dispatch. At the moment our picking lists are completed by manually entering the data.
From what I have been able to determine online, AX2012R3 should be able to support barcode scanning straight out of the box.
I would like to use barcode scanning to at least be a double check that the correct part is being picked for a production kit, and also that we pick and send the correct final product to our customers. I assume this would mean that the barcodes comprise the location number as well as our internal part numbers.
I'm conscious of the amount of admin required to generate all the new labels we require and the upheaval of introducing a new system, so before I press on with this I have a favour to ask.....
Is there anyone on the forum using AX2012R3 who has implemented barcode scanning in stores and dispatch, and if so would if be possible to visit your site with a colleague to see how it works and convince management that this is something we should pursue?
I am based in Watton, Norfolk in the UK, so if there is someone within a few hours drive that would be happy for me to visit their site at some point in the near future it would be massively appreciated.
