Missing voucher numbers - Invoice register journal

Hi guys, 

I have created a number sequences called pt_Lfak_18 and this is setup as continous. I have attached this number sequence to the invoice register journal. I have now realized that they are some missing voucher numbers. The voucher numbers are not continous. Please see the attachments for further information. Do you maybe know what is wrong ?

    Hi Tony,

    Can you check the Status list of this number sequence? This is a form that can be opened from the Number sequence form. The numbers may be stuck here. Or there are still unposted journals?

    If this is not giving the answer, can you indicate if there are customizations involved to e.g. import the invoices into the journal?

    Hi, 

    I have checked the status list for the number sequence but this form doesn´t show any possible "hanging" or unused voucher numbers. I have checked if the check box "Check continous numbers" is marked to verify that the number sequences that generate vouchers in the ledger are continuous. Further I searched for the missing voucher numbers in General ledger > Inquiries > Voucher transactions but didn´t get any results...

    Hi,

    Is it possible that the voucher number is not only used for your invoice register journal but also for other journals or processes?

    If you make use of the voucher inquiry form in GL and search for vouchers that start with 2180* do you see also the 'missing' voucher numbers?

    Hi Ludwig,

    I have gone thorugh all our journals and looked if we have attached the same number sequence to journals other then our invoice register journal but it doesn´t seem like we have. It´s only attached to the invoice register journal. Further when searching for the missing voucher numbers (2180*) in the voucher transaction inquiry I don´t get them up..

    This sounds strange.

    Is it possible that those voucher numbers are used in other companies for IC transactions?

    The voucher numbers are not used in other companies for intercomapny transactions.

    Hi Tony,

    Is there a possibility that somebody deleted those vouchers from the database?

    Why is it that you are keen to have continuous numbers?

    Do you need consecutive numbers for your vouchers?

    Hi Ludwig,

    I don´t think that somebody deleted those vouchers. The vouchers that we have used are 21800001, -3, -5, -7, -9, -11, -13 and the missing ones are the ones inbetween -2, -4, -6, -8, -10, -12. Do you see the pattern. The customer demands continous numbering to follow up the invoices and the vouchers when posting. It makes it easier for them.

    Hi Tony,

    This can be caused by using data import or customizations to get the invoices in the journals. Can you tell how the invoices are being registered in your environment?
