Hi Experts,

I was trying to update my DevBox from PU29 to PU40.

But while executing it got in step 42, below is the error message

Executing step: 42
GlobalUpdate script for service model: MROneBox on machine: MININT-XXXX
Update the financial reporting database
Job AutoGlobalUpdateMR job failed
The step failed.

I'm unable to get the solution to solve this error.

Please can anyone help me to solve this error.

Thanks in advance,

with regards,

srihari.

RE: Deployable binary package failed while updating DevBox from PU 29 to PU 40.

I suggest to deploy a new dev box, this way you can solve your issue without using much time.

You will anyway need to deploy a new VM latest for the April 2021 version: community.dynamics.com/.../action-required---net-version-and-visual-studio-2017

So even if you managed to update your VM to PU40, you would be stuck and could not install any upcoming MS updates to it.

In general you can skip max 3 MS updates in a row, meaning that you must update your system at least twice a year to stay supported. And MS doesn't guarantee that you can update over a longer version gap than those 3 skipped updates without issues.

MR failed in DevBox is common issue, specially you upgrade from very old version. Probably we will reinitialize your MRDB (not data reset). Suggest you to raise ticket to Microsoft support to check further.

    Hi shrihari,

You ended up in the wrong forum.

Moved the thread to the d365 finance forum.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
