Okay, here goes, just had to reinstall MR today on a terminal server machine.  You can go into the Services.msc and go to the two services that run management reporter:

    Management Reporter 2012 Application Service

    Management Reporter 2012 Process Service

    Stop both services

Open up the services and enter in your new account and pw that should be running these services, hopefully when you setup this account you also included that pw does not expire.

Then re-start the services and MR2012 should now be working.

BTW, in case you had to go backwards take note of the user and pw that is presently running the services.

We have had to update the services before and change the user and this is all we

    Susan,

Thank you for your feedback.  I have several administrators, but I am talking about hte service account, not an administrator.  Maybe I am misunderstanding your reponse.  The person that installed the software left their name and password as the service account manager; when the password expires then MR doesn't function.   A special service account was created to meet the requirements including no expiring password, but my question is how do I change the service account.

if you look at the main configuration console you will see a listing of the "service account" on the upper right of the window.  I will look at the table you suggested.  Thank you

RE: Service Account- Management Reporter 2012

Is anyone else setup as an Administrator in Management Reporter?  If they are then you can log in and add a new Administrator and then take that person out.  Go into MR2012 and go to Security and Users

Other then that there is a table under MR2012:  "dbo.SecurityUser" which gives you all the users and their Role Types.  Role Type 5 is Administrator, 4 is Designer, 3, is viewer.  You cannot add a new user, but you can  update the role on one user to Administrator (5)  and then see when you log in if you can then administer the system.

Again, don't do anything unless you have a back up of your MR2012 database and you may want to verify this with your VAR or Microsoft GP before doing anything
