EFT Using Drop Box

(0) ShareShare

Our client stopped using our Shared drives and have begun using Dropbox.  As such, the “Generate EFT file” function no longer works properly because it does not know where to put this file. Can drop box be used with EFT? If so, how is it setup?

I don't know if this would work.  But you can "download" Dropbox so that you see the folders on your computer.  I would think that would work because you should just be able to navigate to the file location.

    HI Sean,

Agree with Heather,  there used to be a 'sync' tool with Dropbox where you would define which folder from the computer to sync with your cloud storage..

    Maybe that would help ?

    Here's my client's response:

We have tried drive redirection in the remote app, the app can see the file location but cannot save there, saying the path does not exist when we attempt to save from Positive Pay.  Also we need to know where to set the file path for Generate EFT Files.

    Hi Sean,

We do generate SafePay EFT files weekly, and the saved files are stored on a shared network folder.. you need to make sure that the R/W permissions are granted to the domain user that runs the export..

Thanks Beat, our client wants to user the drop box folders. That's where they're running into issues. Are you saying that the permissions on the drop box folders needs to be updated?

    Most likely..

how is that folder viewed from the Windows side ? is it a local folder that the DropBox sync tool picks up to synchronize with the cloud ?

PS: the path location is defined in this place in GP :  Financial >> Routines >> Financial >> Safe Pay >> Upload Maintenance
We do use a mapped drive (F:) that the users have on their local computer that points to a SharePoint folder (using the WinDav protocol)..  Works usually fine, except when the drive map gets disconnected and then GP mops and says the path doesn't exist. In which case I recommend to the user to logoff/logon from their workstation.

apparently you can download the folders from drop box. so it is the downloaded folders.
