Can I post a shipment without going to sales order?

Are we able to post shipment without going to the sales order? My site team are only to handle the shipment but not the sales order, we do not want them to gain access to sales order?

Hi,

Yes, you can do this. Follow the below path and open "Sales Order Shipping" Page

Departments/Sales & Marketing/Order Processing/Sales Order Shipping

All order will be appear here and Open any Sales order that needs to be shipped and post the shipment-

Adding to Naveen's reply... Naveen shows you the perfect place to go for ONLY Sales Order Shipping in the client. Not sure if your Warehouse is using handhelds/tablets. If no, you might consider using a Warehouse ISV Addon that will limit the process to picking/packing/post shipment within a handheld/tablet with a few fields and clicks.

But I do not want to go to the sales order to post the shipment. I do not want the warehouse team to access the sales order.

With the tablet. Can they enter into nav and post shipment without going to sales order?

Hi,

From Sales Order Shipping Page, Users can only post the shipment and they can not post the invoices for the Sales Order. This page is specifically for the users those only needs to post the Shipment.

I do not see any other way in Standard NAV to post the Sales Order Shipment without going on Sales Orders.

Joanne,

100% the warehouse worker can use a Tablet and Warehouse ISV Addon and never touch the Sales Order. The only Page a User can open, that will not let them touch the Sales Order but allow them to see it and Post Shipment, is the Sales Order Shipping Page. Take a look at this page but again, it shows the Sales Order but no COST or Unit Price.

Hi Joanne,

I suggest to use warehouse shipment page.

Open this page select location. After that click on Get source document it will show list released sales orders. those sales orders which have same location which is define on warehouse shipment page.

Select sales order click ok, it will add sales line on warehouse shipment line fact box, define qty. to ship and post document.

I fill with this process warehouse user not need to check sales order document.

If you want the Warehouse Workers (Users) to never touch Sales Orders, the Location should employ Require Shipment and the Warehouse Employees will use the Warehouse Shipment document to Post Shipment from.
