Get count of transactions that contribute to Trial Balance Period

I'm trying to get the number of transactions that contribute to the amounts generated in the Trial Balance Period Balance. So for a given financial dimension set, for a given period, how many transactions contributed to the balance in period 1, how many transactions for period 2, etc..

In other words, how do I query a view filtering by specific financial dimension segments?
