How to Get Reference LOT Id when creating a transfer journal

Dear All AX Experts,

I'm using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, I'm using FIFO in item model groups without a serial number tracking, So far when i'm do a transfer journal i never found about marking an inventory transaction, i found marking inventory transaction just for movement journal and inventory to fixed asset journal in fixed asset module, but i confused, something strange with my last transaction (transfer journal) when i check to inventory transaction the item in that transfer journal reference to a LOT Id but no previous transactions have been referenced to a lot id before. Because of reference to a LOT Id, my unit price getting wrong price.

What i want to ask :

1. Any suggestion why my last transaction (transfer journal) can referenced to a LOT Id?

2. How to get a correct price when all prices (include physical cost amount, financial cost amount, unit price) in my inventory for that item have been go wrong ?

Thanks for any ideas and any helps,

Chris

    Hi Christoper,

What type of transaction is the referenced LOT ID? Is it related to the transfer or not? Do you have some examples with amounts what went wrong. This will help me in understanding your question better.

Dear André thanks for your reply,

    Purchase Order :

PO-001 with qty = 2 and unit price = 100, LOT ID LOT-001 but this PO already sold and no longer exist.

    PO-002 with qty = 1 and unit price = 200, LOT ID LOT-002

    PO-003 with qty = 3 and unit price = 50 LOT ID LOT-003

Now the quantity in  inventory = 4 (from PO-002 and PO-003)

    I make a transfer journal :

    1. For 1 unit, i dont know why when i check to inventory transaction, this transfer journal referenced to the LOT ID = LOT-001 (PO-001) where the unit price = 100. But in my experience i never found about marking in transfer journal so cannot this transfer journal should not be referenced to any PO.

Are there any way to referenced a lot id in transfer journal?

I assume you have used the transfer journals more often. Could somebody made a mistake to do this marking? When you didn't run the closing yet, you can try to undo the marking and start an inventory recalculation.

    Dear André,

When i check in my test environment, there's no way to do marking in transfer journal, on the inventory menu there's reservation but there's no marking, can you give me a detail how to undo marking and how to start an inventory recalculation, where can i do an inventory recalculation?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

You can download a whitepaper with a lot of information. The document was written for AX2009, but also valid for AX2012.

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

It has the information you are looking for with a lot more background information.
