Remove Time from Date in Process

Hi,

I have created a workflow that concats two field, one of them being a simple date only field. However, when it does this it includes a time. Is there a formula I can add to the concat which can remove the time part?

The format that I am currently setting the field is as follows: Name = {Block(FRA Case)} - {FRA Survey Date(FRA Case)}

Thanks,

Richard

    Hi,

     there could be other options (not sure), but I had to create a custom workflow activity when I ran into this.

    Thanks for the responses. The suggested link didn't solve the problem in this case as it works with global email template. If i try to use {!lead:estimatedclosedate/@date;} as in the example then it just prints it as text.

    Can I understand how you would do this in a workflow as I cannot see how to run any methods such as trim on the text?

    The only way I have thought of doing this is copying the value to a calculated field which trims it and then sets it back again. Seems very long winded though.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    I'd recommend using a solution like Workflow Elements by Aiden Kaskela, it should work perfectly to achieve what you're trying to do

    For a custom workflow activity, you can use this as a start:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg334455.aspx

    But yes, there are, probably, existing solutions you can deploy to CRM which will offer this kind of functionality already.

    I had the same problem as the original poster and tried Ryan's suggestion of Workflow Elements.  This solution solved my problem pretty easily.  The only trouble I had was deciding on the time zone, and I ended up using the Coordinated Universal Time option.  Works like a charm.
