Hi there,
as far as I understand the database, sales-quotes get archived once converted to a a sales-order.
however, I do not see any direct correlation between sales order and the actual sales quote apart from the timestamp ? (which I haven´t checked)
I can look into archived quotes and see status "order" in there.
but no mention of what order actually was created.
I can look at orders, but do not actually see what actual quote led to that specific order ?
or am I simply missing something ?
in our former ERP before business central, the underlying order items always carried a unique order-item-ID which was inherited in any other item. so there was a direct correlation from order to invoice to purchase order etc. this made it possible to have a fully transparent chain of document-.events for each item that was ordered.
how would I do this in BC and is this even possible ?
thanks in advance
Oh I have seen that field, but it keeps staying blank / seems to be inconsistent ? we have hundreds of orders without an actual quote numbe rin that field. so as of today I cannot rely on that field.
IF thats the core function of establishing a reference, I am happy.
thank you so much
There is a field Quote No. in Sales Header table which will have the Quote No. while converting Quote to Order.
