Unable to delete all sample data from Dynamics CRM with Office 365 (2016)

Hi,

I have just started the trial of Dynamics CRM in Office 365.  When I removed all sample data from Data Management/Sample Data/Remove it did indeed remove a good deal of the records however, not all of them.  There are still 59 contacts, 16 products, 5 Opportunities.  If I select all or some of these records and choose Delete the following error comes up:

"An error has occurred.  The selected action was not completed for one or more records."

If I try a bulk delete the items simply do not get removed.  How on earth do I start from a clean slate?

    Bulk delete of Actuals works for me in Field Service, then just work back up the relationship role.

    Its resolved now.

    Since it is a known issue and Microsoft is working on it, might be fixed in coming upgrades.

    Solution:

    I had to reset my Instance, and include CRM and Project Services Modules only, as this issue is mainly because of the Field Service Module. So Microsoft engineer helped me reset my Production instance, and install CRM and PSA again, and now I cannot see Sample Data which is good.

    I am not using Field Service in my organisation so it is fine, i can live without this and also my Dynamics subscription was new with no data or customisation so i was lucky enough to reset it and resolve. But if anyone has some data and custom solutions in the instance, resetting the instance could be challenging.

    But it worked for me.

    Hello, Unfortunately we were not able to resolve with Microsoft Support. They tried several options and none of them worked. In the end, we created a new tenant for the customer.

    Hi I am having similar issue, tried deleting the sample data by using option Data Management -> Sample Data -> Remove Sample Data. But data is still in the system, and when i am trying to delete it one by one its giving error because of the association and other. I have opened a ticket with Microsoft Dynamics Team, lets see what they say.

    There is now an ability to do this under "Settings" / Data Management / Sample Data

    Tenfold just recently added MS office 365 to their integrations list. Tenfold offers features such as click to dial, automatic call logging, easy note taking and task creation, screen pops on inbound and outbound calls, new lead/contact creation when no matching records, support for cases/opportunities and advanced analytics on the backend. They also support MS Dynamics integration.

    You are not able to delete Actual records because there is plugin Microsoft.Dynamics.ProjectService.Plugins.PreOperationsmsdyn_actualDelete registered on the event.

    I've tried disabling this plugin and cold delete actuals by using bulk delete.

    Hi, I tried that and was able to remove some; however the actual time entries I could not get to delete.

    Maybe this is the way to do it. The issue is that SOME of the products, orders etc. are in "READ ONLY STATE" (i.e. as they were market case lost, case won, etc).

    So you need to go and ONE BY ONE, first, "REVISE" them to make them read write. Then, you can delete a record.

    CRAZY. CRAZY. CRAZY.  

    So much for a mature product.
