Reprint statement using GP web service

Hello,

Is it possible to reprint statement using GP web service? We need to display all the statements for a customer similar to what GP provides from Tools > Routines > Sales > Reprint Staments and display statement information for each statement. If GP web service doesn't have this, is it possible to do using eConnect?

Thank you,

Farzana Jashim

Web services is not meant to be a reporting platform. eConnect can be used in conjunction with something like SSRS or Crystal Reports to give a report view of, say customer's statements.

You could use an existing service like Sharepoint, CRM, or you could roll your own modifications to the web service as suggested earlier when you asked about GL summary balances by fiscal period.

    Hi Joshua,

Thank you again for your reply. We have some of these functionalities implemented in our current web site using direct sql queries and we are now planning to move some of our code to use GP service instead. I am not finding some of these as built in the web service. Do you know if we can calculate pricing for Extended Pricing (not standard pricing). We are facing difficulty in there as well and for serial tracking area. Any information related to these will be helpful.

    Many thanks,

    Farzana Jashim

    Hi Farzana,

The extended pricing module is not standard with GP 2010. It was an AM add-on, and this has since been added to the standard 2013 version, I believe. With that said, the web service is probably not going to interact with the extended pricing module available in GP since the objects were based on a non-2013 standard. Although, I have not tried to do something like this in web services.

Even eConnect, to my knowledge, is very basic in terms of setting up pricing, and this is generally standard pricing levels based on the inventory items.

It seems like you keep hitting brick walls with what you need to do, but know that GP's web services and eConnect are tools that encompass the majority of web service needs with interfacing to GP. Setting up the ability to manage / modify things such as extended pricing would take a fair amount of work to implement over a web service.
