Cannot update database of Management Reporter

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

Hello everyone,

We had a server crash recently, today we have restored the VMs.

MR was non-functional so we decided to refresh the services.

We used MR versions: 2.12.16009.1, the oldest version in MR CU16 we could find in the partner portal.

After installation of new services, using the old MR Database we are getting the error the DATABASE UPGRADE FAILED.

30/06/2021 11:49:54 AM - Current database schema version for ManagementReporter6: 2.12.16000; deployment package schema version: 2.12.16009; update required: True

We actually need the building blocks of OLD MR to get our old report templates.

Is there any way we can achieve this?

Regards,

Hamza

    Hello Hamza,

Thank you for the information. I see that you are correct the oldest CU16 version currently included in the "Previous Releases" document is the 16009 release. I believe this change was for brevity to keep the document readable. I have a few suggestions for you:

    1. Use the suggestion by Ludwig and restore your report designs using a .tdbx file to import into a newly created MR database

    2. Troubleshoot the reason for the failed database upgrade. This might be unnecessary if the end goal is to return back to the earlier MR version.

    3. Attempt to download an older CU16 release. Note that if you wish to try and obtain an older CU16 version, a new support case would be required in order to create a secure file transfer site and provide you with a direct one-time download link.

    Thanks!

    Hi Hamza,

Do you still have an old copy of your system e.g. in a different demo/test machine?

If you have then you can export all of the MR building blocks (reports, rows, columns, trees) in a tdbx file that you can then import in the newly build MR in your live environment.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
