when I merge two Accounts, I want to prevent child contacts related to subordinate account from being merged to the master account.

Hi,

I have a requirement as, when I merge two Accounts, I want to prevent child contacts related to
subordinate account from being merged to the master account. I just want the subordinate account to be in Deactivate state with its related contacts.

I checked the relationship behaviour for merge, it is Cascade All and I am not able to change the configuration as it is disabled.

I am new to ms crm. Please help me with the procedure to be followed to achieve it.

    Hello Sindhuja,

    I checked in a vaniila org and OOB it's not possible to change the cascade setting for Merge but you can try changing then "type of behavior" from Parental to Configurable Cascading and then set the value to "Cascade none" for Assign, Reparent, Share & Unshare -

    It may / may not help in this scenario but sharing it with you anyway. 

    Also, I found this thread - https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/139948/merge-cascading-behaviour where a partner was able to do it using SDK so, you can give a try and see if it helps.
