Integration Architecture and Guidelines for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

We are currently in the design phase of integrating an on-premise MS Dynamics CRM with a Saas application. We would like to understand integration architecture and guidelines required to build this integration. If any documentation or details can be shared around the same it will be helpful.
