Why the dimensions in the production order are not the same ones in the posted invoice?

It might e.g. depend on the default dimensions that are setup on the item cards or G/L account cards, or Vendor card. What exactly dimension you refer to? Are they selected in lines or header?

Through out the NAV, the pattern remains same. We get Dimension from "Dimension List (548)" page which is based on "Dimension(348)" table. and since the source is constant, you should get same dimension list to select from.
If they are not same in your case then there might be some explicit filter applied.

I create the dimensions and then I assign these dimensions to items and customers, shouldnt this dimensions get pulled in all posted invoices?
But what I exactly mean is that when I do a sales analysis through dimensions some sales just dont appear there although the customer has dimensions assigned as well as the item. this dimensions all appear if I go to the production order, but none appear in the sales invoice. Sometimes though, for other customers appar in both sales invoice and production orders but I dont get to make some logic out of it.
Why is this happening?
You need to identify, how the wrong dimension values appear on your posted order. This might be, e.g., because on the customer card or on the G/L accound card there are some default dimensions mentioned. Check those.
Also, try generating the order and check what are the dimension values there BEFORE posting it.
What's the setup done in customer & item master for default ?

none , is left in blank. I thought they would be pulled automatically . You see, some times they are oulled sometimes they are not, and I dont get to figure out why that is. In produccion order all of them are pulled ( dimensions in itemsdimensions in customers), but in posted invoices sometimes some are pulled and sometimes others are half pulled or werongly pulled or not pulled at all. For example for item "x" corresponds dimension code 320, and sometimes it pulles it right and some other times it pulls 393.. which it really confuses me..
