Management Reporter Web viewer only prints first page

ReportReport
Posted on by 632

I have a report that will fit on one page when it is printed in portrait.  In order to be able to see it better, I want to print it in landscape.  In both the print preview and when printing, it shows page 1 of 1, and doesn't show me the bottom part of the report.  Am I doing something wrong here, or is it a bug?

    Hi

If you want to print in landscape option please make sure to select landscape and (Down, then over) radio button under the setting page-->other-->Page setup. Please find the below screenshot.

Now you can get the print the report without any issues

Thanks.  It was, and still is, set up for landscape.  It still defaults to portrait when I go to print preview, and still shows page 1 of 1 when I go to landscape.

As it turns out, it's not just with landscape reports.  I have a very long report that should be several pages when printed in portrait.  It only prints the first page.  I am using File --> Print from the web viewer, and I've also tried it using the printer icon.

This issue has been written up as the following: "Bug 865479: Printing from Web Viewer (IE) only prints one page"

Unfortunately, there isn't a fix date scheduled for this issue yet but we do have the following work-arounds available:

Option 1: Print from Report Viewer instead of the Web Viewer.

Option 2: Export the report from the Web Viewer to XPS and then print.

Option 3: Use Firefox or Chrome to print from the Web Viewer. The problem has only been reported with IE.

If you use File/Print from any web browser when viewing a report, it only prints the page you currently see.  In order to print the full report, I download to excel.

    Jake Friedl,

Do you have any updates on Bug 865479?  I am in the Partner community and have an AX client with this issue.  I don't see any info on this bug when I search on PartnerSource, Connect or anywhere online.  How can I watch to see when this issue will be fixed?  --Or vote it up so it can be included in a release or SP?

    Thank you,

    Jacqy George

The issue has not yet been resolved and I do not have any new information on a fix date. Below are the current work-arounds:

Option 1: Print from Report Viewer instead of the Web Viewer.

Option 2: Export the report from the Web Viewer to XPS or Excel and then print.

Option 3: Use Firefox or Chrome to print from the Web Viewer. The problem has only been reported with IE.

    Any fix for this yet?

The suggested workaround of using Firefox or Chrome will not work for us as we have a corporate wide group policy to use IE in order for other enterprise applications to work.  Using the Report Viewer has other formatting issues, and exporting to Excel is a lot of extra work (in addition to the known formatting and page break issues when exporting).  Is there a proposed date for a fix?  This was identified over a year ago.

    Hello Jacqy,

    2. When running report, change print destination to to printer.
    a. Click on button "Destinations..."
    b. Select Printer. Then "OK" button
