Automatically create and populate financial dimension values

Hello,

I have created a new custom financial dimension named 'third party'.

1) Every time a new record is created in the global address book I need a corresponding record to be created in the financial dimension values with the partyId as dimension value & the name as dimension description.

2) When a vendor or a customer is created, it is automatically linked to a party record of the Global Address Book record.I should be able to automatically assign the financial dimension Third party on the vendor/customer according to the vendor/customer party.

I have no idea in what table the financial dimension values are stored and how to proceed to do this. Can someone please help.

    For start you can refer to this link:

    community.dynamics.com/.../add-new-default-dimension-financial-dimension-on-new-table-and-form-example-tutorial

    Then when create vendor/master you just copy the field defaultdimension

    let say custatble.defaultdimenion = dirpartytable.defaultdimension.

    I hope it helps.

    Hello, I tried looking at the link but this is not quite what I want to do. I found the following code quite useful:

    axgeek.blogspot.com/.../dynamics-ax-2012-inserting-data-in.html

    but I have having the error

    "Error 'AxdDimensionUtil' is obsolete: ''This class is no longer supported, use the DimensionResolver classes.'' "

    for this line

    workerDimensionDefault = AxdDimensionUtil::getDimensionAttributeValueSetId(defaultDimensionCon);

    Can someone tell me which method I am supposed to use from the DimensionResolver class which is equivalent to the method highlighted above please?
