CRM 2016 Installation

Hi All,

I am facing issues on installing CRM 2016 on-premise as I can't see SQL server at the deployment stage to link SQL with organization.

The CRM,IIS & AD are on one server & SQL is on other server both the servers are in same domain.

On the SQL server the admin user through windows authentication is not able to login into SQL. Also the Reporting services is not configured as it is throwing error as  "The report server isn’t configured properly. Contact your system administrator to resolve the issue. System administrators: The report server can’t access or use the encryption key. You might need to add the server to the scale-out group, reimport encrypted content, or delete all encrypted content and generate a new encryption key." which i tried & failed as I am not able to delete the keys.

Thanks

It sounds like you have several issues:

    • 'On the SQL server the admin user through windows authentication is not able to login into SQL'. What happens here - does the user receive an immediate error like 'Access Denied' or 'Login Failed', or does it take several seconds before any response ? If it's the former then check if the user has permissions in SQL; if it's the latter then check the SQL Server service is running. If you get an error like 'Unable to generate SSPI context', then the issue is likely to be with Active Directory
    • 'I can't see SQL server at the deployment stage to link SQL with organization'. This may be a firewall issue - is the SQL Server configured to allow communication via IP (by default on port 1433) or Named Pipes, and is this permitted through the firewall
    • 'delete all encrypted content and generate a new encryption key." which i tried & failed as I am not able to delete the keys'. What message do you get when you try to delete the keys ? The only reasons I can think of for not being able to delete the keys are either that you don't have permission, or the Reporting Services installation is corrupt

    Hi David ,

Now after everything I am not able to start the reporting services."The service did not start due to a logon failure." this was working perfectly fine before.

    No firewall is there.

What i am assuming is it could be more of server setup issue. I am  contacting them. but now my main issue is that i could not start the Reporting services.

    Thanks

The message "The service did not start due to a logon failure." is most likely because the service account for the service is invalid (wrong username or password, or the account is disabled).
