Upgrade from AX2012 R3 On-Prem

Dear Community Members,

We are a small business using AX 2012 R3 On Prem. We are evaluating the upgrade to D365 and wanted to understand the following:

Can we migrate our AX 2012 R3 to Dynamics 365 Finance Only (Not Operations)
If the answer to above is Yes, what is the minimum licensing requirement
If the answer to the first question is No then what is the minimum license we need for Dev & Prod for D365 F &O.

We are only using the Finance module in our current instance and have very little customization. We don't want to migrate to Business Central because of various reasons and its limitations.

*Customers may combine Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or Project Operations base USLs and/or device (2.5 device SLs equal 1 base USL) Licenses and/or eCommerce (one unit of any eCommerce Tier SKU) to satisfy the 20-user minimum purchase. Not applicable to CSP.

Hi Nitin,

Licensing wise, I'm not sure how it will be converted. Technically, you can migrate and use Finance only. There is a Dynamics 365 Finance SKU. The minimum license requirement is 20-user minimum. Will shared some links to more information.

For the license conversion, contact your partner. They should be able to assist you.
