Problem adding certain fields to the quick create form

Hello, everyone, we are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 on-premise.

When I am trying to create a Quick-Create form for an opportunity product, a lot of the entity's fields are not displayed in the field explorer. Some of the missing fields (for example, Currency) are system required and not having them on the form prevents any created record from being saved. But when I open a Main Form editor, all of those fields are appearing in the field explorer without any problem.

Is there any other way to add those fields to a Quick Create form or make them appear in the Field Explorer?

    Hi Alexander,

Please make sure you are searching the display name of the field in the field explorer (not the name or schema name).

Also, uncheck the checkbox called "Only show unused fields". If you find your field, it means you have already added it to the form.

    Hi Alexandr,

I can't see it either, so I'm assuming it's hidden through the metadata for some reason. You might try creating a new currency lookup field, and, then, using a pre-create plugin(or, possibly, a business rule? Not sure a business rule would work, though) to copy currency reference from that new field to the original currency field.

    Hi Alexandr,

If these fields are not available in the quick create form editor, even when you remove all filtering from the field explorer, then this is because these fields cannot be added to a quick create form. There are some restrictions in place to make these forms fast and efficient.

For example one of the restrictions is that all formatting options for controls are taken away. It’s now impossible to set controls to display multi-lines so you can't have multiple line of text fields.

If you found my response helpful, please mark "yes" to confirm it helped you.

Thanks a lot for the answer, Alex Shlega! This (plus my other research and innumerable attempts to find a workaround) verifies that what I am trying to do is impossible.

Still struggling to see why would they keep the quick-create feature on an opportunity product and then make it completely unusable to the point where you can't even save the record from the form... I guess, just bad system design
