    Hi Suet,

Which version of BP do you use ? what is your GP version ? An HTTP 404 means that something cannot be found by the IIS Service on the BP server... You may have to re-install it, because if some ASP pages are missing, you're going to have a hard time. Did you also linked the SharePoint security roles to your user ? how is your BP implemented ? on MOSS 2007 or the free SharePoint version (which is a stripped down version) ?

    Hi Beat,

Thanks for the reply. I am using Business Portal for Dynamics GP2010. Dynamics version, GP2010. Miscrosoft Window Share Point Services 3.0.

I am testing the Purchase requisition using administrator.Created administrator as final approval and also as a creator. How do i check whether I have linked the SharePoint security roles to my user?

    Thanks

    Suet, Barry,

Does this work for any user?

For SharePoint security groups, go to the BP home page, then Site Actions > Site Settings > People and Groups.  Verify that your users are in the correct SharePoint groups.  (You'll likely want them in the groups matching the BP roles that are assigned to them.)  Also, do you see any entries in the event viewer when you get the 404?

    Thanks

    Rob

it does not work for all my users not even the admin, also i do not see an entry of that error in my event viewer. i verified the roles as you said and still the problem persists.

    what could be the problem

Is this a new install or an upgrade?  What is the URL to your BP home page?

    Hi Barry,

We reported this case quite sometime ago. Basically, the support team was able to replicate our error when trying to enter a PR:-

    1. Changed the application pool to DOMAIN\Administrator and did an IISRESET - same issue

    2. Created a new local user, added user to BP and relevant SharePoint Groups and MBF Roles - same issue

    3. Tried to access the top-level site - HTTP 404 error

    4. Created a new web application and top-level were able to access this

When you created the new site collection, the 'Web Site Address' URL was changed from http://SERVERNAME:PORT/ to

    http://SERVERNAME:PORT/Sites/

This would create issues for Business Portal.

You will need to do the following:-

    1. Uninstall and Reinstall Business Portal.

    A. Uninstall Business Portal for Dynamics GP 2010 via Add/Remove Programs.

    B. Verify in the above FEATURES directory that there are no folders with a BP* name present.

    C. Go through the steps in KB 923665 to verify that all remnants of BP 2010 have been removed. (We would not run the scripts to remove the objects from the DYNAMICS and GP company databases.)

    D. Delete the web application and site collection used for BP GP 2010, via the SharePoint Central Administration v3. Run IISRESET.

    E. Verify that the user account we're installing BP for GP 2010 with has the following permissions:

    1. Administrative rights on IIS Server.

    2. Administrative rights on the SQL Server if using Windows Authentication.

    3. Either primary or secondary site collection administrator of the site collection/top-level SharePoint site we're installing BP onto.

    4. If SQL Server is a different machine than the IIS Server, the user account would have to be a domain user.

    F. Create a new web application and site collection via SharePoint Central Administration v3. IISRESET.

    G. Verify we can access the top-level SharePoint site without errors or being prompted for user credentials.

    H. Install Business Portal for GP 2010 and verify the features get installed during the process.

Test issue again to understand if issue resolved. I will share with you whatever solutions that was given.

    Regards,

    Suet
