RE: Changes Sales Transaction Entry Window

    Hi Leslie

I complimented yesterday and will again today.  Nice window.  I loaded the package into GP 2015.

The window is obviously from an older version of GP.  Quite old based on the lookups that are on the window.

All the lookups changed back to an older style.  Is this built into the window itself, or is this something I can change in security to get back the original GP2015 lookups?

    thanks!

100 out of 10 for the screen mod!

must ask tho'.  What is the item code field for?

A quick google search confirmed what I thought, there is no GP window with item code on it.  Puzzles me why it is on IV00101 if I can't put anything in it via GP.

    thanks!

    Hi Mary,

I've e-mailed you a package file containing a modified SOP entry window. I can't put quantity first because there's a script that runs on the quantity field that checks to make sure an item number has been provided. So, I put the item number first and the qty second. The window looks like below:

I've uploaded the package file of this window to Box. If anyone would like to give it a try, you can download it using this link: https://app.box.com/s/z2sujz9pu62jbybhxb4b

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Leslie - Any assistance with the input window would be appreciated.

    I am looking into Dynamics 2013 R2.

    Hi,

Modifier installs automatically. It's like Report Writer in that way. It's just a matter of whether you have it licensed or not. You have the customization site license because you are able to import package files of modified windows. You'll probably get Modifier automatically when you upgrade to GP 2013.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi,

When you upgrade to GP 2013, I believe you will inherit the Modifier module, you'll love it!  In the mean time, you can use modifications created by somebody else by importing the .package file they would provide you. If I'm reading your question correctly, it looks like you just want to move things around on the window. That's an easy change - but if you want all of that information on the first line, you'll need to make that window a lot wider. You want the qty first before the item number? I've played around with this a bit and it works like a champ. It would get you the description on line 1, that works much better for your notes. I'd just need to remember to change the tab order this time :)

So, in short - Modifier is the tool that, in my opinion, would solve your problem.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

If you have Dexterity, then you can modify the window by creating a customization.

    Hope this helps!!!

For the specific case you mentioned above, I believe yes.

So you are telling me that is is not possible to do unless I have one of the programs mentioned?!

When it comes to modifying current window, two things come to my mind: Modifier to modify current forms and Extender to add further fields or windows.
