Adding CRM Users to Marketing Lists?

Is there anyway CRM Users can be added to a Marketing list? Or do I have to create a CONTACT Record for each User?

Why do we want to do this you ask? We want all of our employees (users) to see the marketing email blasts that we distribute; this creates a more team-focused environment.

Thanks for your insight Karth and Ryan, with both suggestions I was able to present the ideas to my team to allow us to make a decision on which course we will take.

    Thanks again

    Hi Joseph,

As far as I am aware, there isn't any way to add system Users to a Marketing List, so the workaround I have put in place in my own system is to create an internal distribution list with my Users as Contacts, as you have outlined, though there amy be issues with this approach.

An alternative to this that would save you having all your users as contacts in the system would be to create an Outlook Distribution List, e.g. allstaff@company.com, that has all members of your staff included, though you will then lose the tracking metrics of opens, clicks, etc. associated with your internal staff (if this is important to you.)

The approach you take largely depends on the driver for distribution to staff. If it is purely for their information the second approach outlined might be ebtter for you.

In that case, you can provide global read access to the campaign and activity entity. Or you could also consider creating a team adding all users to the team and sharing the campaign and campaign activities with the team.

Creating the users as contacts would not mean they would have access to the marketing campaign records
