Cannot add new fields to FinancialDimensionValueEntityView

I want to add the CreatedBy field to the sub-view FinancialDimensionValueEntityFinancialTagView which is in FinancialDimensionValueEntityView.

Created an extension for FinancialDimensionValueEntityFinancialTagView and added the CreatedBy field from the main table.

When I return to FinancialDimensionValueEntityView, the new field is not directly available, dynamic is set to No so I cannot add new fields here too.

Is there any possibility of achieving this requirement or am I missing something?

Do you mean DimensionFinancialTag when talking about "main table"?

What do you mean by "When I return to FinancialDimensionValueEntityView, the new field is not directly available"? If you expect that the field added in the extension will appear in the AOT definition of FinancialDimensionValueEntityView, you're wrong. The extension will be applied separately. To check if it works, you can, for example, check the SQL view definition after synchronizing DB.

And yes, you can add a field directly to FinancialDimensionValueEntityView. You need to use an extension.

Did you tried to add a field manually and set the properties to link the created by field.

This is the extension I created for FinancialDimensionValueEntityFinancialTagView. I dragged in CreatedBy field from DimensionFinancialTag table to the fields node of the View.

FinancialDimensionValueEntityFinancialTagView in the View FinancialDimensionValueEntityView is set Dynamic fields No.

I expected to see the DimensionCreatedBy show up in the FinancialDimensionValueEntityView as it was added to FinancialDimensionValueEntityFinancialTagView but it didn't. Not sure if it is because of the QueryType property setup as Union on the View metadata.

Then I tried to create an extension for FinancialDimensionValueEntityView and manually add a new field but nothing comes up.

See basically if you are adding new fields to a sub view it doesn't mean the main view will show that field unless it is created as a extension. In your latest comment you said that you have extended main view too. Then did you build and sync project and checked the field in sql?
