CRM Outlook do not authenticate user

Hi, I have strange issue where if I tried to log on via CRM outlook that user is not validated and error comes as user is not authenticated but the same user and password is working with CRM Web.

Strange thing is that if I use my user via CRM outlook it is authenticating it but if I use another user it is not authenticating it..

Have you got any ideas about the same?

    I would recommend you to run the Outlook Client Troubleshooting Wizard and test the suggested solutions.

    Hi both, Thank you for your kind investigation links. I already had read and applied the solution wherever I can check the same. I also have run the Troubleshooting wizard but it was not giving particular reason for the user log on failing from outlook.

    ULTIMATELY , and after playing around lot of options/settings, I found an cause of this error. Actually MS Live account of the user was set up with Two Step Verification scenario and as soon as I turned it off it started authentication from MS Outlook CRM client wizard. Please note it was working fine from web browsers but seems when user log on using Outlook CRM, system is using multistep verification.

    I was able to reproduce the same error with my user as well if I turned it on, it was failing and if we turned it off, outlook CRM starts authenticating it.

    Still not sure why is this behaviour but at least it will help someone who have similar kind of issue.
