Run a Query in Nav 2017

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I'm currently training on Dynamics Navision 2017, and I'm trying to run a Query to get a preview of it. Normally, I think, a window should open to have a preview of the query, but nothing is happening.

Is this feature even available in Nav 2017 ?

Thanks,

Baptiste C.

(Sorry for my bad english, it is not my mother tongue)

Hi, you can create a new table and page to show query data.

    A simple BC example: https://yzhums.com/4869/

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

NAV 2017 does not support Query in classic clients.  One can create a report using a query object.

Have you manage to find solution for this? Because I'm having the same problem

I reached to get a preview of a query. I opened a debug session and clicked 'Debug Next'. After clicking 'Run', I got a preview of the selected query. Nonetheless, it isn't always working.

I made codeunit to open and read the first line of the query and query.READ returns 'TRUE'. So the problem comes not from the query.

Same thing, it seems to be a general problem and no specific to the query.

    Hi,

Try a query on the language table

    Data Item > Language

    Column > Code

    Save the Query as Q50099.

    Run it from DEV.

It will display the language codes

    Kind regards,

    L

In fact, the result of the query doesn't really matter. The problem is that when I'm trying to run a query (even a default one) manually by clicking 'Run, there is no preview.

Here is a picture of what I made :

And here is what I expect to have after clicking :

i think the best idea is to look at the table of what you want to do the query on...to just have the view of what you want the output to be like...then u create the query...

also check the column u selected and also if you set filter on any one of them...

    try this...it should work.

I'm not using it on a particular object. I have just made a new query and clicked Run on the Object Designer.
